Complaints the Ombudsman can investigate
The Ombudsman of the Republic of Botswana may investigate any action taken in the exercise of administrative functions of government departments or authorities, where a member of the public claims to have sustained injustice as a result of a maladministrative act. The Ombudsman can also investigate administrative action on his own where he considers that some person as a result of the action may have suffered injustice. Complaints The Ombudsman recognizes the existence of internal channels of communication in all government agencies. The Ombudsman thus requires that such channels be generally exhausted before submission of a complaint for investigations or requires a proof that a genuine attempt was made. Complaints can be made in person, by letter and/or completing the online complaint form. Making a Complaint Our offices hours are 7:30 am – 12:45pm, 1:45pm - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
